Clondalkin is a suburban town located in west Dublin approximately 10 km from Dublin’s city centre. With a current population of nearly 47,000, Clondalkin is an evolving commuter town with excellent transport connections (Dublin Bus provides multiple routes to and from the town, with the LUAS red line stopping at nearby Red Cow, and there are rail options at Clondalkin & Fonthill station) and it is just off major road networks such as the M50, N7 and N4. There are numerous primary and secondary schools in the area, with choices for mixed and same sex students, and with secular and non-secular options. Clondalkin is home to historical and cultural sites such as a famous round tower, Tully’s Castle and Áras Chrónáin cultural centre. There is a wide choice of supermarkets and shops in the town, some of which are based in The Mill Shopping Centre, and it is situated close to Liffey Valley, one of Dublin’s premier shopping centres. Clondalkin is close to Grange Castle Business Park, which hosts major employers such as Google, Microsoft, Wyeth, Aryzta, Takeda and Pfizer. The area has a broad variety of community groups, including a youth theatre, pipe band, scouting group and Tidy Towns association.
